Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN)
Job Specialty: Telemetry

Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM
Guaranteed Hours: Full Time
Experience: Minimum of 1 year in related nursing specialty
License: RN License in state of employment or compact
Certifications: BLS (must be AHA), ACLS (must be AHA)
Must-Have: Competency in the relevant clinical setting
Job Description:
- Demonstrates independent practice in providing routine to complex care for patients, planning long-range goals, and managing clinical nursing situations effectively.
- Meets expectations of applicable competencies, whether as a Leader of Self, Others, or Leaders.
- Provides nursing care using the nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation.
- Addresses complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families within the scope of practice.
- Administers medications and treatments per protocol, monitoring for side effects and effectiveness.
- Documents patient history, symptoms, medication administered, and care provided.
- Assesses learning needs and educates patients, family members, and caregivers, identifying issues and resources.

- Utilizes critical thinking skills to assess patient needs, communicating findings to healthcare team members.
- Develops and adjusts a specific plan of care tailored to individual patient needs using evidence-based practice.
- Implements patient care and therapeutic procedures, monitoring and documenting progress and teaching goals.

Unit Operations:
- Plans, directs, and evaluates overall nursing care functions during assigned shifts.
- Demonstrates good stewardship in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies.
- Assesses departmental staffing needs and actively participates in resourcing efforts.
- Educates and trains others on operations, ethics, and healthcare regulations.
Safe Practice/Quality Care:
- Incorporates patient safety guidelines to promote a safe environment and achieve positive patient outcomes.
- Demonstrates accountability for research and quality improvement activities.
- Provides evidence-based nursing care and communicates patient information effectively.
Technical Competencies:
- Follows specific standards and clinical procedures, ensuring organizational compliance.
- Maintains health information documentation, ensuring accuracy in patient records.
- Utilizes standard diagnostic tools to troubleshoot and resolve equipment issues, ensuring proper working condition.
- Processes medical orders, discussing common errors and corrections.
- Reads and interprets patient charts accurately, communicating findings to the medical team.
- Ensures safety for patient groups, recognizing signs of potential harm.
Education/Skills:
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing preferred.
