Compensation

Mount Sinai South Nassau provides a salary range in good faith determination of potential compensation to comply with the New York State law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, education, and hospital need. The salary range listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.

Position Summary

Summary:
The role of the Physician Assistant involves independent judgment and decision-making as well as consultation and collaboration with other members of the health care team in order to ensure premier quality patient care. The PA enhances the continuity of quality patient care while providing communication between the physician, patients, and the consulting health care teams. This position is critical in leading evidence-based care initiatives that will result in achieving optimal patient outcomes and improved patient satisfaction. The Physician Assistant provides direct diagnosis, therapeutic, and health care services under the direct supervision of the GI/Endoscopy Attending Physician.

Qualifications

Responsibilities:
Education Required
Must complete in-house orientation program
Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant Program.

Experience And Skills
Excellent interpersonal skills
Speaks, reads and writes English
Minimum 5 years' experience in Endoscopy
Current demonstrated competence and an adequate level of current experience, documenting the ability to provide services at an acceptable level of quality and efficiency
Good oral and written communication skills
Good problem solving and analytical skill
At least two-year experience within an in-patient setting (experience in GI, transplant, hepatobiliary and/or surgery strongly preferred).
Bilingual; fluent in both English and Spanish in order to provide exceptional care to a diverse community preferred but not required

License/Certifications
Current NYS Certification / Registration
Certified, or eligible for certification, by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants
Continuing Education Units: CMEs as required by NYS to maintain licensure
Certifications: Current BLS/ACLS.

Frequent, prolonged standing/walking, lifts, positions and/or transfer of patients.
Monday-Friday and occasional weekends
