Mount Sinai South Nassau provides a salary range in good faith determination of potential compensation to comply with the New York State law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. Position Summary
Summary:
The Chief Physician Assistant is responsible for the day-to-day administrative, clinical, and managerial functions of the Orthopedic Department. Responsibilities may include but are not limited to: daily operations of the department; oversight of the Knee and Hip Joint Replacement disease specific program; human resource management; quality management; community awareness; professional and patient education; product line growth.
Qualifications
Responsibilities:
Education Required
Must complete in-house orientation program
Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant Program.
Currently registered by the NY State Department of Education.
Experience And Skills
Excellent interpersonal skills
Speaks, reads and writes English
Minimum 5 years experience as a department director/5 years management/Business background Current demonstrated competence and an adequate level of current experience, documenting the ability to provide services at an acceptable level of quality and efficiency.
Experience and/or skills in area of practice.
Good oral and written communication skills.
Good problem solving and analytical skill
License/Certifications
Licensure: Current NYS Certification / Registration
Continuing Education Units: CMEs as required by NYS to maintain licensure
Certifications: Current BCLS/ACLS
Certified, or eligible for certification, by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants

Frequent, prolonged standing/walking, lifts, positions and/or transfer of patients.
