Chappaqua CSD is looking for a dynamic and innovative educator and leader to serve in the probationary position of Assistant Superintendent for Pupil Personnel Services effective July 1, 2025.
This exciting leadership opportunity, reporting directly to the Superintendent of Schools, is a cabinet-level position focused on overseeing and enhancing the district's pupil services programs. Key responsibilities include implementing, administering, and maintaining services in MTSS, reading, special education, psychology, related services, nursing, guidance, and social work while ensuring compliance with applicable laws. The role is dedicated to fostering a school environment that supports individualized instruction, collaborative curriculum development, and student success.

Essential Functions
- Program Leadership & Compliance: Develops, administers, and ensures compliance of special services programs, including special education, guidance, psychology, social work, nursing, and MTSS, in alignment with district goals and legal requirements.
- Supervision & Implementation: Oversees the CSE and 504 processes, ensuring proper implementation of IEPs and 504 plans; supervises the district's SEL, ESY, and health services programs.
- Student Support & Placement: Coordinates outside placements, crisis intervention, and McKinney-Vento Act services while fostering an environment that supports individualized instruction and student learning.
- Communication & Engagement: Meets with students, parents, and school personnel to address student needs and provides leadership to staff, including the Director of Special Education and 504 Services.
- Budget & Record Management: Prepares and oversees budgets for pupil services programs and ensures the secure maintenance of student records in compliance with federal and state laws (e.g., Section 504, ADA, IDEA, FERPA).
- Effective Collaboration: Works closely with administrators, teaching staff, and families to enhance programs, improve student outcomes, and ensure clear, effective communication.
Qualifications Profile
- NYS SDL Certification
- Experience as a Superintendent, Assistant Superintendent, Director of Special Education or Building Principal required
- Experience as a special educator or school psychologist preferred
