3015N Embedded Systems Engineer (Designer)

embedded S/E sought for GTA medical device company, to be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining embedded systems for the company's advanced medical device products throughout their lifecycle.

Location on site North GTA

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Design, develop, and sustain embedded systems for products and accessories.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on hardware/firmware integration, testing, and verification (e.g., IEC 60601-1, IEC 62304).
• Maintain embedded designs to meet state-of-the-art standards.
• Develop prototypes for new products.
• Prepare engineering change requests and support production teams in resolving technical issues.
• Provide technical leadership to junior team members.
• Ensure compliance with quality standards and follow procedures.

REQUIREMENTS;

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in a regulated industry (medical device preferred).
• Proficiency in embedded software development (C/C++), real-time systems, and debugging tools.
• Experience with revision control systems (e.g., Git).
• Familiarity with standards like IEC 62304, ISO 14971, IEC 60601.
• Strong troubleshooting, debugging, and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of sensors, serial protocols (I2C, SPI, UART), and embedded software testing (TDD).
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and development tools (e.g., Altium Designer, dsPIC/PIC32).
