Description:

Responsibilities:

Plan, organize, and coordinate emergency communications, public address, and mass notification engineering for multi-disciplined design projects throughout the planning, design, and construction phases of engineering, and on through project startup.

Perform a broad range of emergency communication, public address, and mass notification system design activities, including design definition, system architecture and development, digital systems, network configuration, logic development, network switches, communication protocols, routing and layout, and procurement activities.

Development and implementation of emergency communications, public address, and mass notification cabling, cabinet/panel/enclosure layout, and cabling pathway design (e.g., cable tray, conduit, and underground duct bank).

Properly interpret and apply National, State, and Local codes/standards such as NFPA, IBC, ISA, and IEEE, as well as customer design requirements for the preparation of emergency communication, public address, and mass notification system design/construction documents, specifications, and system descriptions related to assigned tasks.

Prepare engineering cost and schedules estimates.

Generate and review the accuracy of design/evaluation calculations, and specifications.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor of Science in Electrical or Audio Engineering or similar accredited engineering degree with a minimum of 10 or more years' experience (nuclear preferred) in design, estimating, specification preparation, construction document preparation, and related phases of engineering.

NICET Level II (or higher) certification in the applicable subfield.

Familiarity with MicroStation, Autocad, Revit, or S3D modeling a plus for preparation of detailed design deliverables and design packages.

Must be a U.S. Citizen.

Must have a working knowledge of Federal (including Department of Energy Orders), State, and Local codes and standards applicable to emergency communications, public address, and mass notification engineering design.

Ability to work in a collaborative team oriented, procedure-based engineering culture.
