Entity: PMMG- Penn Medicine Medical Group Department: Human Resources- Compensation Location: Penn Medicine Lancaster General- 1097 Commercial Avenue Hours: Full-Time Summary: The Provider Compensation Manager leads a team of compensation and financial professionals to support Penn Medicine Medical Group (PMMG) physician and advanced practice provider compensation across the regional practices. Reporting to the Director of Physician Compensation, will work collaboratively with various senior level stakeholders to manage all processes and protocols surrounding provider compensation. Responsibilities include: periodic compensation reconciliation and incentive plan management; performing accurate and timely analysis of complex provider compensation; with reviewing survey data, establish appropriate provider compensation levels; managing process in which physicians transition to productivity compensation plan; effective communication and consultation with new and existing physicians regarding compensation models; managing the communication process for annual physician compensation changes; manage audits to maintain data integrity and compliance to physician contract terms. Responsibilities: Manages provider compensation department to ensure compensation analysts are fully trained and knowledgeable regarding compensation plans and processes for accurate calculations and reconciliations for timely payroll and HR rate adjustments. Leads the process for physicians moving to productivity-based compensation models and other compensation model adjustments. Establishes appropriate compensation measurements/metrics to monitor performance and variances which could include the measurement of visits, procedures, wRVUs, charges and collections. Performs incentive reconciliation for all providers (physicians and Advanced Practice Providers (APPs)) and base compensation reconciliation/reset for all physicians. Manages CUV/conversion factor re-set process, including meeting with Senior Leadership and communicating with physicians. Manages process with Corporate Payroll for payment of annual incentives and base pay rate changes for physicians and incentives for APPs. Accountable for all budget processes for physician compensation. Monitors and analyzes trends related to provider compensation costs and related forecasts and budgets. Maintains monthly physician incentive accruals for financial reporting. Provides expert guidance to physician recruitment team on development of appropriate offers, using multi-year compensation and productivity projections. Educates physicians on compensation models. Analyzes trends and projects future productivity. Collaborates with PMMG Leadership, physicians, Directors of Operations, and Legal to ensure amendments to employment agreements are completed when necessary. Acts as a consultant to negotiate compensation contract terms and conditions to achieve beneficial outcomes for the provider and PMMG. Serves as the primary contact for physician and APP payroll questions and issues. Collaborates with HRIS, IS, Corporate Payroll, and Practice Leadership to ensure physicians are paid correctly. Troubleshoots issues as they arise for timely resolution. Education or Equivalent Experience: Bachelor of Arts or Science- Business or Healthcare Management (Required) 5+ years' experience with complex financial and data analysis (Required) 3+ years' experience with physician compensation models (Required) Master of Arts or Science- Business or Healthcare Management (Preferred) 1+ years Management experience (Preferred) We believe that the best care for our patients starts with the best care for our employees.
