Job Description
DUTIES: Provide technical leadership to a team within the National Field Operations department, responsible for supporting applications, reporting, and processes to manage the overall company truck roll utilization and employee resources; develop and support an internal application that identifies customer impacting incidents in real time and takes action on minimizing customer experience impact through avoidable trouble calls, call deflection, and correlation to network events; develop software solutions using Big data technology stacks including Hadoop, Shell and Python scripting, Tableau, Relational Database Management Systems, including SQL Server, Teradata, and Oracle, and Cloud technologies, including AWS S3 and Kinesis; use SSIS, Hive, Beeline, and Spark to load and process data; engineer a new data pipeline establishment on the Minlo platform using Python, Spark, XGear, Docker image, Kubernetes technical specifications, and Comcast internal frameworks; schedule jobs using Cron Jobs; set up presto applications for integrating multiple data sources into a single user interface; coordinate with the quality assurance team to implement the data quality check matrix for delayed dimensional data, and set up thresholds to quantity datasets using SSIS and SQL Server; develop and implement reusable components using PySpark, Spark, Scala, and Python; identify new data sources; enhance applications; test and implement software updates; create Star and Snowflake schemas to provide integrated and enhanced data for business reporting needs; fix bugs, and update defect and resolution steps with HP ALM; provide support and analysis for new products; perform use case trial and analysis; document designs with technical specifications; provide end user support and guidance to improve customer experience; and guide and mentor junior-level engineers. Position is eligible for 100% remote work.
REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, any Engineering, or related technical field, and five (5) years developing software using Hadoop, Python scripting, Tableau, Relational Database Management Systems, including SQL Server, Teradata, and Oracle, and Cloud technologies, including AWS S3 and Kinesis
