The role

After our first full year of selling the SDK, we're very confident that we're on to something: the inbound sales volume & conversion has been high-quality & steady and we're proving that we can solve real challenges as well as charge for that impact (and our investors agree). It's now time to launch our first strategic outbound effort, which this role will spearhead. Based remotely in New York, you'll be focussing primarily on the North American EdTech space - a TAM valued at well over $1bn, which is an arresting number whether you believe in TAMs or not.

As our first outbound effort, plenty of the typical sales enablement framework is up to you to create. From that killer sales deck & messaging, to target & stakeholder mapping; it will be up to you to iterate on what's been built already, drive it forward, and refine as necessary. For the truly ambitious and autonomous individual this should be an immensely exciting opportunity to define a role & function, with every chance of a North American adventure in the near future to grow the organization stateside. You'll be working alongside an SDR to help fill your funnel, and a CSM to ensure the closed revenue not only stays around, but informs how we find more.

The person

You've been a quota-carrying (and demolishing) sales professional for a number of years, but are still fairly early in your career. You're most motivated by the hustle of individual contribution, but also have an eye on developing into a more strategic contributor in future. The relative lack of structure at a young business doesn't daunt you - rather, it is exciting to you, as your naturally strong organisation skills combine well with your appetite to get things done with minimal direction required. Equally, you're a team-player, keen to learn from and support others in the team. As a fully remote hire (until you sell enough to build us an office in New York, of course) this combination of autonomous team-player is crucial.

At the heart of your motivation is a simple desire to identify problems and propose clear solutions to them. Tldraw's SDK has an enormous range of potential applications, and an equally wide range of customers it could solve problems for - as well as many that it's not right for. So having a truly customer-centric approach to evaluating potential fit - or not! - is crucial, combined with the appetite to get under the skin of our tech and rapidly join the dots.

You will
  • Work as a key part of the GTM team, reporting to Head of GTM, focussed on sourcing and closing new business opportunities
  • Be a critical contributor to strategic decisions around ongoing vertical and regional prioritization
  • Develop industry-specific messaging and materials to ensure our value-proposition is crystal clear to your target markets
  • Define & create tooling & data infrastructure required to understand and measure relevant customer information, working together with tldraw's tech teams
  • Work closely with the Product teams to build a robust feedback loop, and ensure we continue to develop the products & services that our customers value most
You'll need
  • 7+ years as a quota-carrying member of a commercial team, with at least 5 on a New Business team
  • Experience working primarily at B2B-focused digital product companies, ideally developer-focused tooling
  • A strong bias towards consultative selling, focussed on problem-solving (GAP Selling)
