JOB DESCRIPTION:
Perform professional accounting work involving compilation, consolidation, analysis and reporting of financial data. Assist with the management of the District's business and accounting affairs to provide the maximum educational services for the financial resources available. Develop and implement business and accounting procedures to ensure compliance with applicable state laws and regulations, Texas Education Agency (TEA) requirements and all applicable auditing and accounting.
DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:Manage District's Activity Funds. Classify, record, and summarize numerical and financial data to compile and maintain financial records according to governmental accounting principles and district procedures. Compute and prepare data for journal entry and adjustments. Prepare income statements, balance sheets, consolidated statements, and other statements and reports. Prepare annual cash flow projections. Perform cost accounting activities, bank reconciliation, and maintain the general ledger. Prepare and file monthly sales tax report to State Comptroller. Maintain and update Activity Fund Manual. Work with administrators, principals, directors, and staff regarding activity fund issues. Prepare timely audit schedules and financial statements according to federal, state, and GASB standards. Compile, maintain, and file all reports, records, and other documents required, including auditable records and financial statements. Perform other duties as assigned. Regular attendance. EXPERIENCE:

- Successful experience in accounting and advanced bookkeeping functions at the level required by the position
- Two (2) years accounting experience
Education/Certification:
- Bachelor's of Business Administration, Accounting, Finance or related field
Special Knowledge/Skills:
- Proficiency in accounting at the accounting level required by the position
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, willingness to learn other computer software systems
- Ability and willingness to adapt to an ever-changing work environment
- Ability to speak in public and to conduct training presentations
- Ability to maintain records, to understand and follow oral and written instructions, to communicate and work
with the public and school personnel
