About The Role

Seaport Entertainment is looking for an Accountant based in our New York office for our rapidly growing company. Reporting to the Accounting Manager and as a key member of the accounting team, they will perform various accounting functions for the portfolio, with a focus on our Entertainment Segment.

What You Will Do

General Accounting:
  • Support with day-to-day accounting operations.
  • Process sales for concert ticketing and other entertainment operations
  • Analyze general ledger and prepare journal entries as appropriate (e.g. accruals, reclasses)
  • Reconcile accounts monthly to ensure accurate reporting and ledger maintenance.
  • Manage end to end month end reconciliation and review process (Balance Sheets, P&L reviews, additional workpapers)
  • Manage and track entertainment and sponsorship agreements, ensure accurate AR billings, reconcile the AR subledger


Bank and Cash Management:
  • Ensure proper reconciliation of various bank accounts and resolve outstanding items in a timely manner.
  • Post daily cash journal entries and ensure accuracy.


Fixed Assets and Prepayments:
  • Identify, record, and ensure the timely capitalization of fixed assets.
  • Track prepayments and post amortization entries as needed.


Collaboration and Process Improvement:
  • Raise accounting issues and coordinate with the accounting team to drive consistency across processes and controls.
  • Collaborate with the operations team on concert and sponsorship activity.
  • Assist the Accounting Manager with ad-hoc tasks and entries.


Audit and Reporting:
  • Assist with year-end audit requests by preparing necessary documentation and analysis.
  • Ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) 404
  • Handle other ad-hoc assignments as needed.


About You
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required
  • 2+ years of experience in an accounting or financial role preferred
  • Strong computer skills; D365 experience is a plus
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Highly organized with attention to detail
  • Thrives in a fast-paced and collaborative environment


Compensation: $73,000- $100,000 plus benefits
