Reporting to and supporting the Manager, Financial Reporting & Technical Accounting, we are looking for an Accountant, Financial Reporting & Special Projects PCR to join us in the exciting work we do in the Controller Department. The Accountant, Financial Reporting & Special Projects PCR will be responsible for preparing and assisting with the quarterly and annual consolidated financial statements note preparation and disclosure, variance analysis and standalone financial statements preparation. In addition, the Accountant will be responsible for conducting technical accounting research in connection with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and resolving accounting issues arising from complex transactions.

What You Get To Do:
  • Create and prepare note disclosures for the financial statements
  • Create and update the support for the notes, ensuring each entity is uploaded properly to Financial Consolidation and Close (FCCS), intercompany transactions are eliminated, investigate any discrepancies or outliers
  • Work with various internal stakeholders to complete any outstanding reports, retrieve missing information and properly address new/unique items, and to resolve any issues regarding the financial statements, notes and supports
  • Prepare supporting documents and audit trail for the statements
  • Complete quarterly and annual stand-alone statements for individual business units including financial statements, note disclosure and audit trail support
  • Assist in the implementation of new accounting standards across the organization by taking a project role
  • Monitor changing accounting standards and proactively conduct research to identify current relevant accounting or reporting changes affecting the organization with regards to that area. Identify detailed alternatives, implications, and resolutions; and
  • Serve as a company-wide technical accounting resource for ad-hoc questions and initiatives.
  • Create, modify and maintain templates and databases relating to financial statements, note disclosure, business unit audit packs, and variance reports; and


Who You Are:
  • Minimum 5-7 years of varied experience in financial reporting, accounting, analysis and business services
  • Experience working in a fast-paced office environment with tight deadlines
  • Undergraduate degree in Accounting or Finance
  • CPA designation is required
  • High level of ethics and integrity; leads by example
  • Effectively read/understand corporate documentation including Financial Statements, Management Discussion & Analysis, and Annual Information Forms;
  • Experience in a fast-paced commercial environment with demonstrated success in managing multiple tasks within constrained timelines.
  • Proven ability to interact and communicate effectively with team members, auditors, senior leadership and other business units.
  • Knowledge/experience in accounting, finance, analysis and control systems; and
  • Strong MS Office skills (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) & Finance & Reporting Software (Oracle FCCS, Workiva).
