- Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent) in Finance or Accounting
Job Description:
- Maintain a combination of general accounting systems, preparing journal entries, and reconciling intercompany transactions.
- Post to the general ledger and maintain receipt and disbursement reports, reconciling bank statements and other similar activities.
- Prepare balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and other financial reports.
- Analyze trends, costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations incurred to predict future revenues and expenses.
- Prepare and review accounting entries posted to various ledgers to ensure proper accounting of expenses and revenue.
- Extract and analyze data to prepare monthly financial statements, comparative reports, account reconciliations, and cost reports.
- Design and prepare ad hoc management reports.
- Assist in the preparation of monthly and quarterly financial statements and narratives for upper management.
- Reconcile, analyze, and adjust general ledger accounts, maintaining accurate detail in support of G/L account balances.
- Perform bank statement reconciliations and daily cash management activities.
- Prepare government surveys and other required reports.
- Interact with finance and affiliated organizations regarding financial activities.
- Reconcile department invoices and prepare check requests for payment, posting transactions to the general ledger.
- Complete special projects and financial analysis as needed.
- Ensure accounting procedures comply with relevant tax legislation, regulations, and internal controls.
- Review and interpret accounting/financial reports for area operations; propose changes to improve cost-effectiveness.
- Maintain required records, reports, and files.
- Assist independent auditors with interim and year-end audits.
- Stay updated on government regulations and procedures affecting corporate finance and accounting procedures.
- Enhance professional growth through educational programs, seminars, workshops, and conferences.
- Perform other related duties as required.
Preferred Skills:
- Proficiency with accounting software, preferably Lawson.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Word and Excel.
- Strong communication skills for interacting with all levels of personnel.
- Excellent organizational and follow-up skills with the ability to multitask, plan, and prioritize workload.
- Positive attitude and professional demeanor.
- Knowledge of auditing standards, regulatory requirements, and the healthcare industry preferred.
- Ability to work with and maintain confidential information.
- Willingness to be part of a team and assist in other department areas as needed.
