We're looking for someone to join our team as an Accountant IIIwho:

Under direction of the Controller, the Accountant III will perform all phases of accounting work. Prepares complex and routine general ledger entries. Performs financial analysis to ensure the accuracy of entries to ledger accounts and reconciles accounts and subsidiary ledgers. Prepares reports and other related work.

Essential Functions:
  • Prepares and maintains a variety of entries to the general ledger system.
  • Prepares and verifies complex accounting, statistical and narrative statements and reports requiring analysis and interpretation of data.
  • Reconciles bank account statements and investment accounts.
  • Participates in the review, analysis and verification of the fiscal records.
  • Prepares reconciliation reports of revenue and cash receipts to subsidiary systems.
  • May supervise and guide lower-level accountants or other departmental staff as needed.
  • Tracks and reconciles Medi-Cal and Medicare reconciliation reports.
  • Performs actual vs. budget and/or forecast variance analysis and prepares general ledger entries to resolve variances.
  • Directs and/or participates in the preparation of balance sheets and profit and loss statements, and other financial reports, including, but not limited to, Cost Reports, UDS and OSHPD reports, Board Reports, revenue reports, functional expenses, and indirect costs.
  • Prepares and reviews cost allocation plans.
  • Prepares fixed assets and depreciation schedules.
  • Prepares 571-L and Welfare Exception filings.
  • Participates in corporate and program audits.
  • Performs other departmental duties as needed.

  • You'll be successful with the following qualifications:
  • High School graduate or equivalent.
  • Must be 18 years of age.
  • Bachelor's degree with a major in accounting preferred or equivalent field plus 5 or more years of experience.
  • Thorough understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
  • Ability to compile, organize and analyze data.
  • Knowledge of governmental reporting requirements.
  • Ability to establish and maintain fiscal records and procedures.
  • Ability to prepare comprehensive financial reports.
  • Knowledge of and experience with Microsoft Office Programs, advanced Excel proficiency.
  • Ability to prioritize workload, work well independently or collaboratively and meet established deadlines.
