We are looking for a Financial Reporting Accountant that can learn the fundamentals of our Financial Reporting and Technical Accounting Department. This position will help ensure accuracy of cost accounting and pool allocation, and the creation of the financial statements. We are looking for someone who will come in, learn our processes, and offer up a fresh view.
The Finance Strategic Capabilities Unit delivers the expertise and business acumen to increase value across the enterprise by providing actionable information with recommendations and opportunities to drive sustainable business growth.
What You'll Do:
On-Site Work Environment: This position requires regular in-person engagement by working on-site three or more days each normally scheduled week in the primary work location. Travel and local commute between company campuses and other possible non-company locations may be required.

We are looking for a Financial Reporting Accountant that can learn the fundamentals of our Financial Reporting and Technical Accounting Department. What You'll Do:
- Actively participate in the month-end close and financial reporting process.
- Verify costs are recorded and allocated properly per accounting system design set-up.
- Verify accuracy of monthly financial statements.
- Reconcile balance sheet and income statement balances between the Aerospace and Corporate systems at month-end.
- Complete special projects at the request of financial accounting management and/or SBU/SSU personnel.
- Ensure that all business is conducted using the highest ethical standards and in compliance with all applicable laws, statutes, and regulations as well as company policies and directives.
- Help manage monthly journal entries.
- Support monthly account reconciliations.
- Support internal and external audit requests.
- Recommend updates to accounting policies.
- Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the department, the Strategic Business Units, Strategic Capabilities Units and the Company. Interact appropriately with others in order to maintain a positive and productive work environment.
- Perform other duties as necessary.

- Work is performed in an office environment, laboratory, cleanroom, or production floor.
Required Skills and Education
- BS/BA in a related field plus 4 or more years related experience.
- Each higher-level degree, i.e., Master's Degree or Ph.D., may substitute for two years of experience. Related technical experience may be considered in lieu of education. Degree must be from a university, college, or school which is accredited by an agency recognized by the US Secretary of Education, US Department of Education.
- Mission focused, can-do attitude.
- Experience with cost and pool accounting.
