This role will be the main tax interface and will be responsible for the performance and reporting of Tax and Insurance Accounting activities for the US Controls business unit.
The role will be responsible for the following items:
- Completion of tax forms and submittal to Internal Tax Department & Government Agencies
- Oversight of the collection and submittal of tax data to support quarterly and business plan tax forecasts, federal and state tax provision estimates, local and jurisdictional filings, and federal tax return analysis
- Support to business area on foreign and domestic issues, tax research, and representation on IRS and state tax audits, and ad-hoc requests.
- Facilitating financial closing activities, including journal entries and trial balance review
- Complete general ledger account reconciliations and forecasts
- Execute monthly, quarterly, and annual transactional accounting activities
- Support internal and external audit activities
- Other accounting activities as assigned
- Reporting and analyzing financial information for company insurance department
- Completion of business informational surveys from the US Census Bureau
- Unclaimed property reporting

Required Skills and Education
- Bachelor's Degree and six years work experience or equivalent experience.
- This role will require strong communication, analytic and problem solving skills.
- The individual must be team oriented and able to work independently with limited supervision.
- Demonstrate the ability to drive to a conclusion with adequate follow through and issue resolution.
- Initiative to take on ad hoc requests and projects and identify areas for improvement.
- Understanding of general and tax accounting and reporting processes.
- Must be able to meet strict internal and external reporting deadlines.
Preferred Skills and Education
- CPA preferred. Prior Corporate tax experience, including reviewing data that leads to the submittal of required forms to tax agencies.
- Prior accounting experience utilizing International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
- Experience completing accounting activities in an Oracle ERP (or similar systems).
