MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
The Accounting & PF&A Manager is responsible for:
- In conjunction with other Accounting team members, evaluate existing month-end close process and identify areas for process improvement and efficiency gains
- Prepare monthly journal entries for accounting close
- Resolve any discrepancies in accounting data, as identified
- Train, direct, and manage other staff accountants as needed within the accounting group
- Prepare monthly/quarterly/annual accounting reporting package according to accounting close and financial reporting calendars
- Train, direct, and manage payroll accountants improving the payroll process and efficiency
- Review payroll summary reports for accuracy and completeness, ensuring timely resolution of any issues
- Assist the Program Finance Managers with financial analysis / research and budget development, as needed
- Assist VP of Accounting/CAO and/or CFO on cash management, forecasting, and continued evolution of recurring financial reporting packages
- Assist in the evaluation and enhancement of Dynamics 365 Business Central to better automate and incorporate the accounting processes within BC
- Lead special projects as assigned for the various operational programs
- Assist with government audits/reviews and fiscal year-end audits
- Continuously look for ways to streamline accounting and financial reporting functions
- Performs other duties as assigned
WORKING CONDITIONS & SCHEDULES
- Working conditions are normal for an office environment with long period of sitting and using a computer
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
- This is a hybrid position with a schedule to be determined with the CFO as the department is built-out
QUALIFICATIONS & ATTRIBUTES
- 10+ years of relevant accounting and finance experience
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or in Business with an accounting focus
- Working knowledge of GAAP
- Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines, organize and problem-solve
- Strong proficiency in Excel including building financial statements, reporting dashboards
- Dynamics 365 Business Central or other ERP systems proficiency preferred
- Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation, and team management skills
- Contribute to continuous improvement
- Ability to work under limited supervision
- Ability and desire to manage individual(s) as assigned with a result driven approach
