The Role
The Accounting and Finance Manager will support the Controller in directing and planning the financial operations of the company. This role will assist the controller in producing accurate financial statements, supporting the outside accounting firm with tax returns and audits, and creating company financial models. The Accounting and Finance Manager must be comfortable working in an entrepreneurial, start-up environment.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field required.
Master's Degree is a plus.
CPA is a plus.
Minimum 5 years of experience required in accounting, finance, and budgeting, which includes AP, AR, audit, tax, GL, and financial reporting across multiple entitles and states, including GAAP.
Experience with Concur, QuickBooks, and/or Carta is a plus.
R&D industry experience is a plus.
Experience with budgeting and projection.
Responsibilities
Manage functions of the accounting department including accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed assets, and treasury management.
Maintain the accounting system and general ledger, including month end closing process.
Assist in various financial analysis matters, budgeting, cash projections, cost accounting, and inventory management.
Evaluate, design, implement, and monitor internal financial controls, accounting processes, and policies for efficiency, cost effectiveness, and accuracy.
Implement consistent and efficient accounting policies, practices, and procedures, upholding Federal, State, and local legal standards by remaining knowledgeable about existing, new, and future legislation.
Assist in the preparation of annual financial reports in collaboration with the company's external accountant for tax reporting and audit.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
