The Accounting Director is a hands-on position that willfocus on supporting the accounting teams in other business units and managing financial operations within a specific area of the corporate structure. This role will generate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and assist management in making educated economic decisions about the company's future.
Your Impact:
- Lead and take part in the activities of the accounting department for the accurate and timely dissemination of financial management reports, including internal and external monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, applicable supporting schedules, annual audits, and annual budgets.
- Oversee and engage in the activities of the accounts payable team, ensuring the accurate and timely processing of accounts payable, purchase orders, petty cash, employee expense reports, cash control, payroll processing, and total corporate payroll tax compliance.
- Direct and contribute to the activities of the deposit & accounts receivable team to ensure the accurate and timely management of all accounts receivable aging components, cash receipts application, funding service management, which includes weekly funding reports, customer service, and cash flow management.
- Manage the activities of the credit & collections team, ensuring clients are meeting their payment obligations and the enterprise DSO progresses in a positive trajectory.
- Establish and maintain systems and controls that verify the integrity of all systems, processes, and data, and enhance the company's value.
- Apply Generally Accepted Accounting Principles to daily activities.
- Support accounting and operation teams throughout the enterprise as needed.
- Responsible for ensuring borrowing base compliance, bank communications, prepares financials, and fixed assets.
- Participate in audits and create special reports, as needed.
- Communicate with co-workers, management, clients, and others in a courteous and professional manner.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Motivate team members to achieve business objectives.
- Direct the activities of the team to maintain effective and efficient operations while ensuring compliance with established standards and practices and fulfillment of critical deadlines.
- Lead team planning and management, including recruiting, interviewing, hiring, and training staff; coaching, developing, and mentoring staff; planning, assigning, and directing work; performance evaluation and review of team members; staff rewards. Oversee conflict and problem resolution and discipline, in accordance with Moore's policies and applicable regulations.
- Develop and execute all necessary training for the team, from new systems to upgrades and changes, ensuring that the team remains competent and flexible.
Your Profile:
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on accounting managerial experience.
- CPA, CMA, or similar certification.
- Proficient in NetSuite.
- Effective leadership and management abilities.
- Desire to create a better solution.
- Self-starter with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Team player committed to collaboration within the Moore organization.
- Ability to work and effectively communicate with senior-level business partners.
- Excellent business judgment, analytical, and decision-making skills.
- Strong demonstrated use of Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- QuickBooks and/or ERP integration experience is a plus.
