Accounting Manager - Fixed Assets 10035

General Overview: Responsible for accurate and timely accounting of the organization's fixed assets, including capital projects.

Responsibilities:
  • Oversight of recording fixed asset acquisitions and dispositions accurately in the accounting system.
  • Create, monitor, and enhance a robust system of controls, procedures, and forms for the recording of fixed assets.
  • Recommend updates to accounting policies related to fixed assets.
  • Review fixed asset transactions for compliance with Company policy.
  • Monitor company expenditures for fixed assets, comparing them to the capital budget and management authorizations.
  • Work with operations management to validate the existence of fixed assets and timely disposals.
  • Oversight and analysis of depreciation calculations for all fixed assets.
  • Review balance sheet reconciliations in the fixed asset subsidiary ledger to the summary-level account in the general ledger.
  • Prepare audit schedules related to fixed assets and assist auditors during their inquiries.
  • Prepare and provide recommendations on opportunities to improve processes and changes to company policies and procedures.
  • Accountable for the monthly fixed asset accounting close process and related reconciliation, reporting (fixed asset roll-forward, CAPEX, etc.) and tracking
  • Assist with internal and external audit requests.
  • Work on special projects and perform other duties and projects as assigned.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related, accredited field required
  • Experience with a publicly-traded company preferred
  • Sage system experience preferred
  • Minimum 5 years' experience within an Accounting environment.
  • 1 to 2 years of supervisory experience preferred
  • CPA required
