The Accounting Manager will oversee and manage the financial operations of the organization, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting and compliance with relevant regulations. This role is critical in supporting the organizations mission through effective financial management and strategic budgeting. We are seeking a candidate with a strong background in General Ledger and Month End close.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the preparation and analysis of budgets, forecasts, and financial reports.
- Oversee day-to-day accounting operations including accounts payable and accounts receivable.
- Oversee AP cycle, including reviewing invoices and managing vendor relationships.
- Manage AR process (billing, collections, and revenue recognition.)
- Responsible for conducting reviews of General ledger accounts, as well as assisting in preparation of journal entries and account reconciliations.
- Ensure compliance with non-profit accounting standards and regulations.
- Handle bank reconciliations
- Coordinate audits and ensure timely completion of all audit schedules.
- Manage grant accounting and reporting to ensure compliance with donor requirements.
- Conduct financial analysis to support decision-making and strategic planning.
- Oversee month-end and year-end closing processes to ensure timely and accurate reporting.
- Maintain general ledger and ensure accuracy of all financial transactions.
- Manage cost allocation processes to support program funding and budgeting needs.
- Support fundraising efforts by providing financial insights and reporting.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 4+ years of experience in full-cycle GL accounting, preferably in a medium sized company($50-100mm revenue).
- Experience working in a non-profit entity is a plus.
- Strong understanding of budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
- Experience with grant management and compliance requirements.
- Proficiency in financial reporting and analysis using Excel and accounting software.
- Knowledge of audit coordination and tax compliance processes.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
- Strong MS Excel - pivot, LOOKUP functions, subtotals, and filtering.
