Accounting Manager

Job Description

The Accounting Manager is a key member of the accounting team. This position will be a supervisor and report to the Controller.

Core Responsibilities:

• Ensure timely and accurate execution of accounting and finance activities. These include but are not limited to:

• Month End / Year End Closing and Reporting.
• Balance Sheet Reconciliations and Reviews.
• Cost accounting experience with standard cost setting, budgeting, variance reporting etc.
• Liaise with and prepare data for External and Internal Auditors.
• Fixed Asset and capital expenditure tracking.
• General Accounting (Accounts Payable / Accounts Receivable) Improvements.
• Tracking and analyzing costs with a focus on manufacturing cost.
• Prepare, process, review and approve various journal entries and accruals.
• Assist in annual year-end inventory count and reconciliation.
• Assist in other areas of the department as needed and as directed by the Controller.
• Ability to think strategically and adjust to a changing environment.

Requirements

Key Requirements:

• BS/BA Degree in Accounting or Finance, CPA/CMA preferred but not required
• GAAP knowledge required
• Minimum 10 years' experience in an accounting role
• Manufacturing Experience
• Strong understanding of accounting fundamentals especially various costing methodologies (Standard, ABC, Direct etc.), and regulatory issues
• Be able to diagnose problems quickly, analyze data, and have foresight into potential issues
• Travel as needed, up to 10%
