POSITION SUMMARY:
Puyallup Tribal Enterprises (PTE) is looking for an Accounting Manager to join our dynamic Team! Reporting to the Director of Finance, the Accounting Manager will oversee the system implementations and operations of multiple entities as PTE's portfolio continues to diversify.
PTE is focused on leveraging our existing assets to generate above-market returns for the Puyallup Tribe and our strategic partners. We are looking for a highly motivated professional with proven technical, strategic, and analytical skills. This critical role will develop and manage new processes and controls, implement and maintain multiple systems, work with the Director and Executive team to provide reporting, analysis and recommendations, and support the Accounting team with close, audit and budget support.

This critical role will develop and manage new processes and controls, implement and maintain multiple systems, work with the Director and Executive team to provide reporting, analysis and recommendations, and support the Accounting team with close, audit and budget support.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead the transition of multiple companies to the PTE portfolio, including the creation of processes, internal controls, and documentation
- Manage the monthly and annual close processes for multiple entities
- Manage the annual budget process for multiple entities
- Assist with the Puyallup Tribal Enterprises, Inc's annual audit
- Prepare and file monthly tax returns.
- Report troubleshooting and creation within multiple software reporting solutions, as well as within Excel
- Prepare financial reports and special reports for the Director, CEO, CFO and Board of Directors
- Manage accounting and finance staff, including career mentorship and development
- Provide advice and recommendations on financial matters and assists the Director and CFO in finding solutions to financial challenges by applying sound financial knowledge and skills
- Maintain a variety of documents, files and records for the purpose of providing an up-to-date reference trail, availability of information as needed on delegated projects, assignments and/or forecasts
- Champion PTE Values and work to teach and promote them throughout PTE
- Identify opportunities for improvements, identify potential areas of risk, and share information with key stakeholders to maximize results throughout PTE
- Use all company resources efficiently to promote maximum financial results for PTE; maintain PTE equipment and assets to maximize return on investment
- Establish and maintain effective business relationships and with all employees, vendors, business partners, government/regulatory entities, and communities in which we operate
- Strictly follow workplace safety measures; safeguard the welfare of all employees, guests, visitors, and business partners at all times; promptly report workplace risks, incidents, injuries, and near misses
- Maintain strict confidentiality regarding all sensitive and proprietary business information and safeguard PTE assets at all times
REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum
- BA/BS degree in accounting or related field
- 10 years similar level work experience including substantive experience with ERP implementations, preparation of financial statements, workpaper reconciliations, audit preparation, budgets, and ERP reporting capabilities
- Comprehensive knowledge of GAAP and its practical application to a dynamic business environment
- Strong knowledge of integrated financial systems; ability to process and analyze high volume data from multiple integrated sources
- Ability to make intelligent decisions using effectual mix of analysis, experience, and judgment
- Strong computer proficiency with MS Suite, including advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, filters, data analysis), and FRX or other report writer(s)
- Knowledge of retail systems and procedures
- Ability to problem solve, effectively multi-task, and manage competing priorities to meet deadlines
- Proactive, with a positive mindset and ability to adapt
- Thorough approach with high level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
- Relates well to all people, diplomatic /gracious; builds good relationships without compromising results

- Uncompromising integrity and the ability to maintain strict confidentiality
- Ability to occasionally work non-standard hours to accommodate business needs, including nights, weekends, and holidays
