Overview
This role is Hybrid - San Antonio or Dallas and will be responsible for managing general ledger activities, accounts payable and receivable, payroll functions, and financial reporting to ensure accuracy, compliance, and efficiency. The Accounting Manager will lead month-end and year-end closing processes, oversee financial consolidations across multiple entities, and ensure proper accounting for intercompany transactions.
This position requires a strategic and hands-on leader who can collaborate cross-functionally to support financial and operational goals. The Accounting Manager will be responsible for implementing and maintaining internal controls, optimizing accounting processes through technology, and ensuring timely regulatory compliance, including tax filings and audits. Additionally, this role will provide leadership and development opportunities for the accounting team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and excellence.

Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage daily accounting operations, including the maintenance and monitoring of the general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll functions to ensure accurate and timely financial management.
- Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with GAAP and internal financial policies, providing actionable insights to support decision-making processes.
- Lead and manage month-end and year-end closing processes, including preparing and reviewing reconciliations, adjusting journal entries, and ensuring accurate financial reporting in line with organizational deadlines.
- Coordinate the consolidation of financial statements across multiple entities, ensuring consistent application of accounting standards and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Oversee the accounting for intercompany transactions, ensuring accurate recording, timely reconciliation, and transparent reporting to maintain the integrity of financial data across business units.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams, including finance, operations, and leadership, to support strategic financial planning and achieve overall organizational objectives.
- Develop, implement, and maintain a robust system of internal controls to safeguard assets, ensure the accuracy of financial records, and mitigate risks related to financial reporting and compliance.
- Manage the accurate preparation and timely filing of regulatory documents, such as 1099 forms, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations.
- Provide leadership and mentorship to the accounting team, fostering an environment of professional growth, continuous learning, and a commitment to excellence.
- Continuously evaluate and optimize accounting processes through the integration of technology and innovative solutions, aiming to improve efficiency, accuracy, and scalability.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for external audits, coordinating audit processes, preparing required documentation, and facilitating communication with auditors to ensure a smooth and successful audit experience.
- Support tax planning and regulatory reporting activities, working closely with tax advisors to ensure compliance with applicable laws and the optimization of tax positions.
Qualifications
Skills/Specialized Knowledge
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting orFinance
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
- Minimum of five years of progressive accounting experience, with a preference for healthcare industry
- Budget experience required
- Financial modeling experience required
- Strong interpersonal, relationship management, communication, and presentation skills (both verbal and written)
- Demonstrates strong self-awareness, keenness to learn and a strategic mindset. Open to different approaches and ideas and willing to challenge status quo to drive new business initiatives
