We're seeking an Accounting Manager to join our team! Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, month-end and year-end accounting closes, budgeting & forecasting, management reporting, analysis and internal/external audit support.
This is a hybrid role based in our Monroe, NJ office.
What You Do
Responsible for monthly financial close which includes the following:
- Prepare approximately sixty month-end journal entries.
- Review and approve all staff accountant and senior accountant journal entries in Oracle.
- Expense analysis and balance sheet analysis preparation.
- Review of analysis for 39 expense accounts and 18 balance sheet accounts.
- Prepare daily intercompany activity schedules and record necessary transactions during closing week.
- Review Best Fixed Asset reports for accurate activity and depreciation calculation.
- Prepare monthly fixed asset roll forwards.
- Prepare Gross Margin and Markdown schedules for Director, Inventory Accounting.
Income statement budgeting & forecasting for 14 work centers.
Prepare weekly labor reports for Monroe DC and Reno DC management. Reconcile monthly payroll labor activity to general ledger.
Reconcile intercompany accounts with NY and Nook Media.
Prepare miscellaneous cash receipt schedules and review Oracle posting of misc. cash. Prepare bank deposits.
Handle internal and external audit requests relating to G/L, fixed assets and A/P. Handle internal tax requests for fixed asset schedules.
Review and approve purchase orders in Oracle.
Review and signoff on invoices for processing of payments.
Prepare monthly financial package for 14 work centers for management.
Supervise Staff and Senior accountants.
Review and sign off on monthly sales tax due schedules.
Review and sign off on DC accounting reconciliation worksheet for NY. Review advertising invoices.
Special project labor, NY and vendor chargebacks.
Maintain freight schedules for Logistics. Review Great Adventure and Movie Ticket reconciliations. Research management's expense item questions.
Work with NY and Nook Media to clear up intercompany reconciling items. Prepare utility graphs for Monroe and Reno.
Review and update procedure manual.
Knowledge & Experience
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, CPA or MBA a plus
Five to 10 years' experience
Proficient with Microsoft Office with excellent/advanced skills in Excel including pivot tables, vlookups and queries
Ability to work with and analyze large amounts of data
Good organizational skills and ability to prioritize effectively
Strong time management skills and ability to adapt to changing needs
Ability to work extended hours as needed
Proven ability to work quickly in a fast paced, deadline driven environment
Strong interpersonal skills with demonstrated poise, tact and diplomacy
Excellent communication skills with the ability to clearly communicate to all levels of the organization
Experience with Oracle Financials a plus
