Position Overview
The Accounting Manager will oversee the financial activities of the organization, ensuring accuracy in accounting practices and compliance with regulations. They will lead the accounting team and work closely with other departments to provide financial insights and support business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger activities.
- Supervise and mentor the accounting team, providing guidance and support in their professional development.
- Prepare accurate financial reports and present findings to senior management.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations, including GAAP and tax laws.
- Develop and implement budgeting and forecasting processes to support strategic planning.
- Conduct internal audits to assess the accuracy and effectiveness of financial processes and controls.
- Collaborate with project managers and other departments to ensure accurate project costing and reporting.
- Utilize accounting software such as Procore and Sage to streamline accounting processes.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a managerial role.
- Must have construction industry experience.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
- Proficiency in financial reporting and analysis, with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
- Familiarity with budgeting, forecasting, and cost accounting methodologies.
- Experience with payroll, payables, and receivables management.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills to effectively manage a team and collaborate with other departments.
