We seek an experienced Accounting Manager to support senior leadership in managing the
finance department and assist in overseeing complex financial operations, particularly for
federal contracts requiring detailed reporting and cost oversight.
This role is intended as a growth opportunity, with the goal of promoting the
selected candidate to Controller within 12 to 18 months based on
performance.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee and manage all financial operations, including full-cycle accounting,
month-end close, and profit & loss (P&L) reporting, ensuring accuracy,
compliance, and alignment with company objectives.
Develop and implement financial reporting systems for cost-reimbursable federal
contracts, meeting stringent regulatory requirements.
Experience with DoD cost-reimbursable work and all DCAA-related deliverables.
Collaborate with leadership on budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning to support
business growth.
Supports in developing pricing models for government and commercial contract
proposals, ensuring competitiveness and profitability.
Provide detailed cost analysis, including labor, materials, and overhead allocations, for
ongoing projects.
Ensure compliance with federal regulations, including FAR/DFARS, and maintain a deep
understanding of government contracting standards.
Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, audits, and cash flow operations.
Optimize department performance and efficiency.
Requirements
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
5+ years of experience in a financial management role, preferably within the
government contracting sector.
Demonstrated expertise in managing cost-reimbursable contracts and federal reporting
requirements.
Strong background in proposal pricing models and competitive bid strategies.
Proficient in accounting software, ERP systems (QuickBooks and Paylocity), and
advanced Excel.
In-depth knowledge of FAR, DFARS, and other federal contracting regulations.
Exceptional analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
CPA license is not required, but a strong understanding of accounting principles is
essential.
Compensation:
Salary: $100,000 per year, plus performance-based bonuses, commensurate with
experience and qualifications.
