Responsibilities
Overview
Albany International presents the opportunity to manage and own activities within corporate accounting and financial reporting group.
Position Description
- Manage company-wide month-end close activities, including coordination of journal entries, consolidation and issue resolution
- Manage financial reporting activities, including external SEC reporting. Be the company expert and critical resource of the Workiva platform for SEC filings.
- Manage certain technical accounting topics including, but not limited to, revenue recognition, lease accounting and ad-hoc accounting topics as they arise. Research, interpret, and apply accounting guidance
- Develop and implement accounting process change by analyzing current procedures and recommending changes. Take initiative to continually improve efficiency in accounting and reporting processes.
- Team-up with FP&A group to perform financial analysis on variances to business plan.
- Collaborate with corporate cost center owners to ensure appropriate accruals for vendors and outside service providers, including, but not limited pension and audit.
- Interface with operations personnel and other cross-functional areas on accounting and internal control matters
- Develop, train and mentor staff
- Liaise with both internal and external auditors
Qualifications
Required Credentials
- Minimum 7 years of related work experience in roles of increasing complexity and responsibility, preferably at a public accounting firm and/or a large, multi-national, publicly-held corporation
- Deep, proven knowledge of US GAAP
- Knowledge of public company requirements, including SEC reporting regulations and SOX
- Experience working with global publicly traded companies, preferably those with multiple locations and teams
- Experience supervising, reviewing work, and providing feedback to more junior team members
- Experience with SAP and/or Oracle preferred

Required Education/Certifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
- CPA license
