Where you come in:

The Beatport Group is seeking a full-time Accounting Manager to play a key role in the company's accounting function. This role will manage the accounting close, lead a team of accountants, and be integral in the audit process and financial reporting. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of professional accounting experience in media and/or technology businesses, preferably in music. This role reports to the SVP, Finance and will manage a small team of accountants. This is a hybrid position located in Los Angeles, CA 90021 and will require a right to live and work in the USA without the need for sponsorship.

As Accounting Manager you will be responsible for:

  • Managing the accounting close, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
  • Reviewing journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial schedules.
  • Maintaining and reconciling the general ledger, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Ensuring that internal and external accounting and financial reporting is delivered in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles and applicable guidance.
  • Managing transactions and financial reporting in multiple currencies, ensuring accurate rates, revaluation, and translation.
  • Ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations in an international environment, including VAT, sales tax and other regulatory requirements.
  • Managing audits and regulatory requirements, working closely with external auditors and internal teams.
  • Establishing and maintaining internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure the integrity of financial data.
  • Identifying opportunities and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the accounting function.
  • Leading and developing a high-performing accounting team, fostering a culture of learning, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to support business objectives.

As Accounting Manager you will need:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of accounting and management experience in a dynamic, high growth environment.
  • CPA certification is highly preferred.
  • Experience in the media and/or technology industry, preferably in music.
  • In-depth knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls.
  • Experience working in a global environment with knowledge of foreign currency reporting and VAT requirements.
  • Strong leadership skills with a track record of building and developing teams.
  • Highly detail oriented with a passion and curiosity for automation, technology, and improving workflows.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently and within a team environment.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively and effectively with all levels of an organization.
