Job Summary:
Responsible for overseeing the external reporting, balance sheet accounting, and reporting systems for the accounting team. Works closely with the senior management, external auditors, and other stakeholders to ensure the accuracy and timeliness of financial statements and disclosures. Provides mentorship and guidance to junior members of the team.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Responsible for overseeing the external reporting, balance sheet accounting, and reporting systems for the accounting team. Works closely with the senior management, external auditors, and other stakeholders to ensure the accuracy and timeliness of financial statements and disclosures. Provides mentorship and guidance to junior members of the team.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Supports management in PCAOB compliance initiative through analysis and implementation of key controls over financial reporting.
- Prepares and record journal entries in the normal course of business operations as needed.
- Provides critical audit liaison and company subject matter expertise during interim and year-end financial statement audits, as well as quality of earnings analyses.
- Prepares and reviews monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports in accordance with US GAAP.
- Coordinates and manages the external audit process, including responding to audit inquiries and requests.
- Monitors and maintains compliance with bank covenants and debt agreements.
- Owns the balance sheet accounting, including reconciling accounts, analyzing variances, and ensuring proper controls and documentation.
- Administers and enhances the various financial reporting systems, including Jet, Dynamics and power BI, including creating and updating reports, dashboards, and queries.
- Mentors junior accountants, ensuring high performance and quality standards.
- Researches, documents, and implements accounting policies, standards, and best practices.
- Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.
- Regular and reliable attendance.
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation required.
- At least 7 years of experience in accounting or finance, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of GAAP, applicable laws, and regulations.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Maintains strong attention to detail and ability to create professional, clear workpapers.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to foster excellent working relationships with stakeholders across the organization to understand business, reporting, and data needs.
