Job Summary/Basic Functions

The University of Mary Washington is seeking an Accounts Payable Manager to independently lead the University's fast paced decentralized accounts payable functions, including all annual filings with IRS for 1099M, 1099NEC and 1099K. The Accounts Payable Manager will develop and administer policies and procedures to ensure the University achieves the Commonwealth management standards. He or she will prepare audit work papers and oversee AP reviews and audits and prepare responses to audit findings. The Accounts Payable Manager will provide the University with expertise regarding standards and regulations with related to accounts payable by interpreting regulations and communicating with the campus. This position assists in the management of Commonwealth financial resources and works with Finance, Procurement, Business Services and other units to provide uniform, cohesive and efficient processes for the University.

Required Experience:

A Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance OR a combination of training and experience equivalent to the required education

Virginia Contracting Associate-VCA; Virginia institution of higher education experience; Ellucian Banner financial system; Cardinal knowledge; CAPP Manual knowledge
