nou Systems, a Hemisphere IDIQ awardee, is pleased to announce the contingent opening for an Acquisition SME who will join our Engineering Services team in El Segundo, CA and become part of our rapidly growing technology company operating in missile defense, cybersecurity, test range modernization, biotechnology, and space control marketspaces.

Responsibilities:

You will bring extensive experience in acquiring highly classified space control systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in developing and coordinating activities and documentation required to support Defense Acquisition Boards and major source selections for ACAT-like programs. Additionally, expertise in Air Force contracting and financial management is essential.

  • Lead the acquisition process for highly classified space control systems, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and policies.
  • Develop and coordinate all activities and documentation required to support Defense Acquisition Boards, including acquisition strategies, program briefs, and decision documents.
  • Manage the development and coordination of all activities and documentation required to support major source selections for ACAT-like programs, including request for proposals (RFPs), evaluation criteria, and source selection plans.
  • Provide expert guidance on Air Force contracting processes, ensuring effective and compliant contract management throughout the acquisition lifecycle.
  • Oversee financial management activities related to space acquisitions, including budgeting, cost estimation, and financial reporting.
  • Lead a team of acquisition and systems engineering professionals, providing mentorship and guidance to support ongoing and emerging program acquisitions.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, including program managers, engineers, and contractors, to ensure successful acquisition outcomes.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry best practices and emerging trends in space acquisitions and apply this knowledge to improve acquisition processes and outcomes.


Basic Qualifications:
  • You must have a BS/BA along with a minimum 18 years of relevant experience or Master's degree along with a minimum 16 years of relevant experience or PhD along with a minimum 8 years of relevant experience
  • Highly knowledgeable in acquiring highly classified space control systems
  • Highly knowledgeable in developing and coordinating all activities and documentation required to support Defense Acquisition Boards
  • Highly knowledgeable in developing and coordinating all activities and documentation required to support a major source selection for an ACAT-like program
  • Highly knowledgeable in the fields of Air Force contracting and Air Force financial management
  • Demonstrates ability to lead a team of acquisition and systems engineering professionals to support ongoing and emerging program acquisitions
  • You must have an active TS clearance, with SCI eligibility
  • You must be amenable to be nominated for Special Access Programs
  • You must be a U.S. citizen to be eligible for this position

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Past or present experience with SSC or mission partner space control or space situational awareness mission area programs
  • Completed PMT 4010 and 4020 courses
