The Acquisition Subject Matter Expert (SME) will play a pivotal role in guiding the organization's procurement strategies and processes. This position requires a deep understanding of acquisition regulations, policies, and best practices to ensure compliance and efficiency in all procurement activities. The SME will collaborate with various stakeholders to identify needs, develop acquisition plans, and implement effective sourcing strategies. By leveraging their expertise, the SME will enhance the organization's ability to acquire goods and services that meet operational requirements while optimizing costs. Ultimately, the goal of this role is to drive successful acquisition outcomes that support the organization's mission and objectives.

Location: On-site at offices located in the National Capital Region, primarily Washington, DC. Telework may be authorized.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- At least 10 years of experience in acquisition or procurement roles, with a focus on government contracting.
- U.S. Citizen
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree in a relevant field.
- Certification in procurement or acquisition, such as Certified Federal Contracts Manager (CFCM) or similar.
- Familiarity with FEMA, NOAA or Coast Guard operations.
Responsibilities:
- Provide expert guidance on acquisition policies, regulations, and best practices to internal teams and stakeholders.
- Develop and implement acquisition strategies that align with organizational goals and objectives.
- Conduct market research and analysis to identify potential suppliers and assess their capabilities.
- Facilitate the preparation and submission of procurement documentation, including requests for proposals (RFPs) and contracts.
- Monitor and evaluate the performance of suppliers to ensure compliance with contract terms and conditions.
