This is a hybrid position, requiring a minimum of 2 days in the Seattle office.

Think you have what it takes to be a collaborative, forward-thinking Grange team member? Below is a snapshot of what you'd be responsible for:
  • Primary analyst on quarterly rate indications, maintaining proper price level, price structure, and other requirements to achieve profitability and competitive goals.
  • Performs complex work assignments utilizing actuarial analytical tools for pricing, valuation, and/or risk management.
  • Keeps products up to date on vehicle model year/symbols and available zip codes.
  • Performs statistical analysis of rating factors and identifies profit pockets.
  • Research rate filings for competitor offerings and industry trends as well as collaborating with Sales/Distribution for competitor rating analysis.
  • Keeps accurate records of rate history and keeps rate manuals current.
  • Acquires and applies advanced knowledge of the business, its products, and processes.
  • Identifies developing issues or concerns to monitor, provides insight to management, and suggests timely remedies to correct or prevent unfavorable trends.
  • Assists in the design, development, and implementation of highly complex business solutions.


What we are looking for in a new team member:
  • Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of two years Actuarial experience. Experience can substitute for education.
  • Must demonstrate commitment to Actuarial certifications.
  • Strong knowledge of core functions of an insurance company, general insurance, actuarial and statistical concepts.
  • Basic knowledge of ISO, SERFF and SNL circulars, filings, and forms
  • Solid knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite with strong Microsoft Excel skills
  • Flexibility and willingness to adapt to changing priorities
  • Experience using predictive analytics and third-party data for pricing and underwriting development
  • Experience using actuarial modeling software, creating models for pricing, valuation, and/or risk management
  • SQL, SAS, R and/or Python programming skills
  • Experience using Microsoft PowerBI

  • Pay Range: $72,933-$132,513
