The Public Service Commission (PSC) is currently recruiting for a Water Policy Advisor (Administrative Policy Advisor) to join our team in the Division of Water Utility Regulation and Analysis. The PSC is an independent state agency that is responsible for regulating more than 1,100 Wisconsin public utilities, which provide electric, natural gas, combined water and sewer utilities, and certain aspects of local telephone service to households and businesses throughout the state! The PSC of Wisconsin ensures safe, reliable, affordable, and environmentally responsible utility services and equitable access to telecommunications and broadband services.
This position offers a hybridized work schedule. The position will be headquartered at and required to work from the Hill Farms State Office Building in Madison, WI at least 1 day per week. All employees working a hybrid work schedule are still expected to telework from within the State of Wisconsin. This topic will be discussed more at the time of the interview.

Position Summary
The Administrative Policy Advisor is a critical position within the Division of Water Utility Regulation and Analysis (DWURA) at the Public Service Commission of Wisconsin (Commission). The position monitors policies and trends on water utility issues, researches and tracks impacts of key utility policies, researches and tracks legislative developments, coordinates dockets for applications related to emerging water utility issues (conservation, financial assistance programs for customer-side lead service line removal, etc.), develops key policy direction for DWURA and assists in the Division's public and stakeholder communications efforts in concert with the Division Administrator-DWURA.
This position is responsible for creating useful tools, presentations, and materials to help expand Commission and public understanding of complex utility and regulatory issues. The position will work to implement new policies and divisional initiatives. The incumbent will be responsible for drafting written documents such as memoranda, white papers, talking points, testimony, etc., for a wide array of audiences. Under the general direction of the Division Administrator this position will advise the Commissioners' Office on optimal policy directions for utility regulation, economic development, and utility customer service in Wisconsin.

Salary Information
This position is in schedule-range (81-03) with an annual salary of $79,040-$92,206, plus excellent benefits. A twelve month probationary period is required. Pay for current state employees will be set in accordance with the Wisconsin State Compensation Plan.
