SALARY: The salary range for this position is $76,423.34 to $119,103.64 for Schedule A, and $76,423.34 to $113,148.46 for Schedule B. For newly hired individuals, the starting salary will normally be at the minimum of the salary range. For current Judiciary employees, salary upon promotion or advancement will be an increase of 5% of base salary, not to exceed the maximum of the range, or the minimum salary of the band/level, whichever is greater.Judiciary employees hired prior to June 3, 2014, are considered Schedule A. Newly hired individuals, and Judiciary employees hired on or after June 3, 2014, are considered Schedule B.

The New Jersey Judiciary - Essex Vicinage is seeking a highly motivated individual to join our winning team. Under the direction of the Court Executive 2B (Family Division Manager), Court Executive 1B (Assistant Family Division Manager) and/or Court Services Supervisor 2, handle custody and parenting time and child welfare mediations; child support, domestic violence, and juvenile hearings. The candidate will also mentor and coach lower level administrative professional employees; develop policies or procedures to ensure efficient operations; facilitate discussion among federal, state, vicinage, county or local officials; plan implementation of projects or programs; coordinate work between units or teams; develop communication plans within or outside the organization or unit; keep up-to-date on current trends, laws and rules and perform other duties as assigned. Experience with committees, and conducting hearings would be helpful.

Working knowledge of computers and Microsoft Office would also be helpful.
NOTE: Including a cover letter is encouraged, but not required.

REMOTE WORK: The Judiciary currently offers a hybrid work schedule, and this position may qualify for up to 2 days of remote work outside of Judiciary buildings. To participate in this program, in addition to installing a multifactor authentication app on your phone or tablet, you will be required to have high speed home internet access.
Qualifications

Graduation from an accredited college or university with a graduate degree or certification of advanced training in a behavioral or social science and completion of a recognized mediation training program consisting of 40 hours of instruction and Four years of professional experience in one or more of the following areas: mediation, counseling, family intake, crisis intervention, custody/visitation dispute investigations and/or child support. This professional experience shall have included supervised clinical experience in mediation.

Substitution: At the discretion of the Assignment Judge relevant experience may be substituted for either the graduate degree or clinical experience, or both. Note: In special circumstances and at the request of the Assignment Judge, the Administrative Office of the Courts may temporarily approve for a one year period an applicant who has not yet completed the specialized family mediation training, provided the applicant has at least three years of experience as a Mediator or a combination of mediation experience and service in Family Part, has co-mediated in a CDR program with an experienced family mediator, and certifies to the intention to complete the specialized training within one year following the temporary approval.

Driver's License: Appointee will be required to possess a driver's license valid in New Jersey only if the operation of a vehicle is necessary to perform essential duties of the position.

Authorization to Work: US citizenship is not required. Selected candidate must be authorized to work in the US according to Department of Homeland Security, US Citizenship and Immigration Services regulations.

Residency Law: In accordance with N.J.S.A. 52:14-7 (L. 2011, Chapter 70), the "New Jersey First Act," all persons newly hired by the Judiciary within one year must establish, and then maintain, principal residence in the State of New Jersey. Any person may request an exemption from that requirement from the Employee Residency Review Committee in the Department of Labor & Workforce Development on the basis of either hardship or employer critical need.
