Description:
Due to our practice's continued growth, Columbus Oncology and Hematology Associates is currently searching for an experienced Oncology Advanced Practice Provider. Columbus Oncology and Hematology is a private MD Anderson Certified practice committed to quality patient-centered care.
Responsibilities: This position will be responsible for providing oncology and hematology care services in support of our expanding patient population. This position will function independently, and in collaboration with a physician to assess and manage the needs of our patients.
Services provided by this position include follow-up visits, chemotherapy education, advanced triage, peer-to-peer review, bone marrow biopsies and/or hospital coverage.
Provide direct primary and acute care services to adult oncology/hematology patients
Perform initial and ongoing assessment of patient's medical, physical and psychosocial status
Obtain comprehensive medical history and perform comprehensive physical exam
Complete accurate and timely documentation of observations, interventions, plan of care, referrals and
follow-up
Formulate appropriate differential diagnoses based on history, physical exam and diagnostic testing
Identify needs of the individual, family and develop a plan of care and/or education plan
Order and interpret diagnostic test
Make appropriate referrals to other health professionals and community agencies
Adhere to productivity standards established by the department
Assess need for personal growth and development and take initiative in seeking opportunities
Perform other related duties but only after appropriate training
Required Qualifications include:
Master's degree in Nursing or Physician's Assistant Degree
Advanced Oncology Certification OR with plans for certification
At least 1 year in a Provider Role
At least 2 years' experience as an RN or NP in oncology
Positive attitude and a passion for oncology patients
Clear verbal and written communication skills
Strong attention to detail
Ability to function as part of a team
Sensitivity to patients' physical and psychological needs
