The Advanced Manufacturing Engineer will play a key role in driving the development and implementation of cutting-edge manufacturing processes within our automotive manufacturing plant. This position will focus on optimizing production methods, improving product quality, and reducing costs through innovative engineering solutions. The Advanced Manufacturing Engineer will work closely with cross-functional teams including design, operations, and quality to ensure efficient and lean manufacturing practices.

The Advanced Manufacturing Engineer will play a key role in driving the development and implementation of cutting-edge manufacturing processes within our automotive manufacturing plant. This position will focus on optimizing production methods, improving product quality, and reducing costs through innovative engineering solutions. The Advanced Manufacturing Engineer will work closely with cross-functional teams including design, operations, and quality to ensure efficient and lean manufacturing practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and optimize manufacturing processes to improve productivity, efficiency, and quality.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives using Lean Manufacturing principles, Six Sigma, and other best practices.
- Design, test, and refine new manufacturing processes for automotive components.
- Collaborate with product development teams to ensure manufacturability of new products.
- Analyze production data to identify trends, root causes, and areas for improvement.
- Troubleshoot and resolve manufacturing issues related to equipment, processes, and materials.
- Ensure that all manufacturing processes meet safety, quality, and environmental standards.
- Support the launch of new products and provide technical expertise during scale-up.
- Provide technical guidance to production teams and train operators on new equipment and processes.
- Work with suppliers to improve the quality and cost-effectiveness of materials and equipment.
- Prepare detailed documentation for process changes, including work instructions, SOPs, and training materials.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering, preferably in the automotive industry.
- Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Experience with CAD software and process simulation tools.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and project management skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Familiarity with automotive quality standards such as ISO/TS 16949 and IATF 16949.
- Hands-on experience with automation, robotics, and advanced manufacturing technologies is a plus.
