The Knight Cardiovascular Institute is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider (APP; Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner) to serve as a faculty member as part of the General Cardiology Ambulatory practice.

Function/Duties of Position

The appointee shall provide services as assigned by the supervisor in furtherance of the university's missions and goals of teaching, research, patient care, outreach and public service. The physician's assistant/acute care nurse practitioner (ACNP/PA) will be an integral member of the Division of Cardiology practice team. The ACNP/PA will work in partnership with faculty physicians, fellows, residents, and other providers to provide excellent clinical care and customer service in the cardiovascular ambulatory clinics. The ACNP/PA will provide direct clinical care to outpatients and will work closely with the General Cardiology section head and providers.

The ACNP/PA will interface closely with the outpatient nursing and medical assistant team in a clinical and teaching capacity.

Required Qualifications

Education Required: NP with Master's Degree in Nursing or MS with BSN or PA with Current national certification. Current Oregon NP license at start date. ANCC Board Certification or NAP as a Nurse Practitioner in the specific area of specialization. Prescriptive Authority (DEA License).
PA: Current national certification. Valid Oregon Physician Assistant license. Licensure under Cardiovascular Medicine MD.

Experience Required: NP 3-5 years Nursing experience in Cardiovascular Medicine (can be as a staff RN).or; PA. Minimum of one year experience as a physician assistant.

Job Related Knowledge: Acute Care Nurse Practitioner Core Competencies. 3-5 years Nursing experience in area of specialization, preferably Cardiovascular Medicine (can be as a staff RN).or; PA: Expected membership in professional organization. Successful completion of an accredited Physician's Assistant Program. Passing score on national certification exam administered by National Board of Medical Examiners and the National Commission on the Certification of Physician Assistants. Minimum of one year of experience as a physician assistant in cardiovascular medicine.
