We're currently seeking an Aerospace Systems Engineer II to join our dynamic team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who thrives in a collaborative environment and is eager to contribute to the development of advanced aerospace systems. As a Systems Engineer II, you will develop and maintain strong relationships with leadership, team members, and peers. Your role will involve representing EPS in technical discussions and ensuring that your assigned projects progress smoothly. You will also contribute to the development of critical aerospace systems by researching, developing, and optimizing system requirements that enhance efficiency, reliability, and performance.

Your work will also involve direct interaction with customers as you assist in integrating battery systems into their vehicles, ensuring that the systems operate seamlessly. You will help manage compliance with federal aerospace regulations and safety standards, ensuring that our products meet all necessary certifications. Additionally, you will take on the responsibility of authoring and maintaining essential engineering documentation, such as system requirements, interface descriptions, block diagrams, schematics, and testing protocols.

A key part of this role will be mentoring and guiding junior engineers, providing them with feedback and fostering a culture of technical excellence. In addition, you will continually work to refine internal processes, enhancing product development, system integration, and manufacturing efficiencies. Maintaining relationships with senior leaders, regulators, and industry experts is another critical aspect of the position, as staying ahead of technological advancements is vital to EPS's success.

To be successful in this role, you should have a Bachelor's degree in systems, electrical, mechanical, or aerospace engineering, along with 2-4 years of experience in aerospace systems engineering. You should have a strong background in requirements validation and verification, as well as compliance with federal aerospace regulations. Experience in hazard, safety, reliability, and failure modes effects analysis (FHA, SSA, FMECA), and familiarity with MIL-STD-810 and MIL-STD-461 standards, is essential. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, are also a must, as you'll be working closely with colleagues, customers, and industry experts.

While not required, it would be beneficial to have experience with lithium battery management, electric propulsion systems, or hybrid electric vehicles. Familiarity with requirements databases such as DOORS or JAMA, and experience with certification projects (Experimental, TSO, STC), would be an asset. Knowledge of common aircraft power, control, and communication architectures, as well as aircraft databuses like CAN, Ethernet, A429, RS232, RS485, and RS422, would also be valuable. Additionally, an understanding of Built-In Test (BIT) functions and experience in aerospace quality and configuration management environments would set you apart.

This position may require access to controlled technical data, so applicants must be a U.S. person or lawful permanent resident as defined by the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
