AFWERX seeks to hire a mid-level DO-2210-03, Supervisory IT Specialist, in AFWERX Information Technology Operations Section (AFRL/RGOTB).

Position duties include, but are not limited to:

• Serves as Chief Information Technology Officer (CITO) and IT operations manager.
• Leads AFWERX-wide efforts to maintain and upgrade operating systems, unit applications, system architectures, and management processes. Leads the directorate's efforts in IT functional areas to include enterprise platform integration.
• Communicates and integrates the organization's strategic plan, mission, vision, and goals. Develops, and recommends new or improved IT operations regulations, policies, procedures, and practices.
• Oversees efforts to accomplish certification and accreditation (C&A) packages.
• Oversees AFWERX IT helpdesk activities and the provision of hardware and system access for the AFWERX workforce. Works with other AFRL and Air Force organizations on technical and computer security initiatives.

Pay Range: $101,420 - $143,324 base salary without locality.

Required Qualifications

• US Citizenship
• Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade, DR/DO-02/GS-13 or equivalent in other pay systems. Specialized experience is experience leading and developing IT operations and services, including the hardware/software life cycle, IT service management, IT asset management, cloud-based IT services, information assurance and cybersecurity; managing government and contracted resources to accomplish strategic and operational IT goals; developing and leading unit-based risk management framework. Experience gained in non-federal positions will also be reviewed for specialized experience.

• Ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance.
• This is a drug testing designated position. The incumbent will be subject to random testing.
• Information Assurance Certification is a condition of employment. This position includes information assurance (IA) work as a paramount duty requirement. The incumbent must achieve the appropriate IA certification within one year of assignment of these duties.
• This position has been designated as a Non-Critical Acquisition Position and is covered by the Acquisition Professional Development Program (APDP). The incumbent must meet or be capable of achieving acquisition certification within the allowed grace period. Applicants must list all completed APDP certifications on their resume.
