A Brief Overview
The AI Risk Lead is responsible for overseeing and coordinating AI risk management activities within RGA, ensuring that AI systems are developed and deployed in a manner that aligns with the organization's risk appetite and regulatory requirements. This role plays a crucial part in maintaining the AI Risk Register and facilitating timely reviews and approvals for high-risk AI systems. The AI Risk Lead serves as a key advisor on AI risk matters and contributes to the strategic alignment of AI governance with corporate objectives.

What you can expect from RGA:
Compensation Range:
$87,050.00 - $131,450.00 Annual
Base pay varies depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience and market location. In addition, RGA provides an annual bonus plan that includes all roles and some positions are eligible for participation in our long-term equity incentive plan. RGA also maintains a full range of health, retirement, and other employee benefits.

The AI Risk Lead serves as a key advisor on AI risk matters and contributes to the strategic alignment of AI governance with corporate objectives.
What you will do
- Lead the management and coordination of AI risk activities across the organization.
- Perform monitoring activities over the AI development operations to ensure adherence to enterprise requirements.
- Ensure the AI Risk Register is maintained and up-to-date with accurate information.
- Provide advice on risk mitigation strategies and regulatory compliance.
- Support the integration of risk management practices into AI governance processes.
- Develop and implement risk management strategies to identify, assess, and mitigate risks associated with AI systems.
- Maintain the AI Risk Register, ensuring comprehensive documentation of risks and mitigation actions.
- Coordinate reviews and approvals for high-risk AI systems, ensuring alignment with governance policies.
- Engage with stakeholders to communicate risk management practices and address concerns including recommendations for improving risk management processes within the AI governance framework.
- Collaborate with the Program Office Director and other team members to ensure effective integration of risk management activities.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Arts/Sciences (BA/BS) or equivalent work experience.
- 3+ Years of experience in enterprise risk management, operational risk, internal audit, or compliance related risk fields.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on risk assessment and mitigation.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- In-depth understanding of AI technologies, leading risk management practices aligned to industry standards, and regulatory compliance.
- Ability to lead and coordinate risk management activities within a complex organizational structure.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a risk management role, preferably within an AI, data, privacy, and technology context.
- Experience in developing and implementing risk management strategies and processes.
- Familiarity with industry best practices and standards for AI risk management.
- Strong understanding of RGA's industry, including relevant challenges, opportunities, and regulatory considerations related to AI governance and risk management.
- Certification(s) related to risk management.
