A Bachelor's Degree and four (4) years of experience in any combination of social work, management, business administration, administrative services or public administration.
A Master's Degree and two (2) years of experience in any combination of social work, management, business administration, administrative services or public administration

Job Duties:
- The Aiken County Director II organizes and directs the operation of a County Department of Social Services (DSS) office operations ensuring a positive work environment. Must be accountable for the financial operations, personnel practices, and delivery of services to clients through Human Service Programs and Economic Services Programs. Maintains working relationships with other service providers and presents a positive image of the agency in the community. Works under the direction of the Child Welfare Services Regional Director for Human Services.
- Manages the staff that administers Human Services Programs. Coordinates Adult Protective Services, Child Protective Services and Foster Care Program ensuring that policy and procedures are adhered to.
- Manages the staff that administers Economic Services Programs. Coordinates Family Independence and SNAP Programs ensuring that policy and procedures are adhered to.
- Ensures the proper management, expenditure and record keeping of funds in order to maintain fiscal accountability. Prepares a budget for State and County funds.
- Promotes and maintains positive agency communications with County Legislative Delegation, Foster Care Review Board, Guardian Ad Litem, County Advisory Board, County Government and other community partners.
- Approves or disapproves all personnel actions. Approves or disapproves all expenditures of all funds.
- Works to improve county DSS resources. Plans and coordinates activity with local county government regarding facility needs and other budgeted services provided by the county.
- Responds to complaints and inquiries.
- Participates and serves on various civic/county/regional boards and other community activities which have a direct relationship to DSS. Coordinates County Advisory Board meetings is applicable.
- Ensures that personal identifying information (PII) is properly used, assessed, gathered, shared and disposed. Protects the agency networks and applications by safeguarding systems, equipment and data.
- Performs other related duties as assigned
