Job Description
Job Title: Nurse Educator

Experience: 5 years of professional nursing experience, with a minimum of 2 years as staff RN in a specialty area, and 3 years of instructor experience
License: Current full, unrestricted Registered Nurse license
Certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS instructor certification
Must-Have: Background in educational experience and all vaccinations

Job Description:

- Maintain an ongoing, comprehensive nursing education program to meet regulatory requirements and assure nursing competency.
- Support internal/external customers with latitude for independent decision-making.
- Design, teach, and evaluate training programs; act as an internal training and organizational development consultant.
- Provide career development resources and support services under the supervision of the Clinical Education Manager.
- Plan, implement, coordinate, and administer clinical specialty training programs, including human patient simulator training.
- Ensure educational activities align with the organization's mission, goals, values, priorities, and resources.
- Coordinate and maintain the quality of the nursing service orientation program.
- Serve as a consultant to integrate new learning into nursing practice and assist nurses in problem identification and resolution.
- Teach assessment, diagnosis, outcome identification, planning, and implementation of a care plan.
- Provide culturally relevant, patient/family-centered care addressing physical, emotional, spiritual, and socio-cultural needs.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care delivery.
- Ensure consistent orientation standards using recognized competencies.
- Coordinate ACLS, PALS, BLS, NRP, and other programs.
- Evaluate the quality and effectiveness of educational activities for professional development.
- Liaise with educational institutions for clinical opportunity facilitation.
- Participate in and apply evidence-based research to improve professional development and patient outcomes.
- Address safety, effectiveness, and cost in nursing professional development activities.
- Assist learners in identifying learning needs and fostering life-long learning.
- Use evidence-based approaches to initiate and adapt to practice changes.
- Support research integration into practice and foster use of evaluative research.
- Fulfill assignments and act rapidly and effectively in emergencies.
- Participate in Nursing Executive Committee meetings and apply information presented.
- Maintain certifications and licensure, completing annual competencies and evaluations.
- Address employee concerns consistent with Human Resources policy.
