Job Title: Registered Nurse Job Specialty: Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Job Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 07:00-19:00 Guaranteed Hours: Not specified Experience: Minimum of 2 years License: State nursing license required Certifications: Required certifications as per job specialty Must-Have: Epic experience, recent Trauma Level One experience, 1.5 years of experience in a 600+ bed academic hospital or 2 years of total (traveling + permanent) experience Job Description: - Provide specialized care to critically ill adult patients aged 14 and older in a 30-bed ICU unit- Care for patients with life-threatening conditions related to major elective and emergency surgical procedures, multi-trauma, traumatic brain injury, spinal injury, stroke, seizure, sepsis/multi-organ system failure, hemodynamic instability, and failure to wean- Conduct comprehensive physical assessments, intensive monitoring, and manage laboratory values, ventilators, and hemodynamic parameters- Demonstrate proficiency in ICP monitoring, spinal drains/catheters, brain oxygen monitoring, Artic Sun therapy, continuous EEG, intra-arterial catheter, non-invasive cardiac output, mechanical ventilation, continuous renal replacement therapy, reconstructive flap monitoring, and massive blood transfusion- Support on-unit procedures including placement of arterial lines, central lines, external ventricular drains, ICP monitors, SEPS drains, bedside bronchoscopy, abdominal washouts, tracheostomy, percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy tube placement, lumbar punctures, chest tubes, and pigtail drains- Demonstrate competency with EVDs, bolts, and ICP management along with trauma and complex surgical patient experienceThis position does not accept local candidates as specified and requires successful completion of a competency test within 48 hours of submission.
