Position Title:Business Systems Analyst

Location:Corporate IT Department

Reports To:Vice President of IT

Position Summary:

The IT Business Systems Analysis plays a critical role in bridging the business functions, end users and various internal and external IT disciplines by: Identifying and analyzing business needs, conducting requirements gathering, and defining scope and objectives; Making recommendations for solutions or improvements to business processes that can be accomplished through new technology or alternative uses of existing technology while keeping an holistic view of the business and fit within the specific constraints of mining operations; Researching business requirements and documenting the relationships between the components of the application system (i.e., end users, business processes, data, applications, and devices) and translating business requirements into application requirements. Hecla is embarking on a major ERP reimplementation across the enterprise and this role will be foundational to the overall success of the effort.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities of the Position:

  • Develop and improve business processes in commercial off the shelf business software. This software includes IFS version 9 and IFS Cloud, along with other supporting tools
  • Assist in the replacement of in-house developed solutions to commercially supported software.
  • Assist the company through the software deployment life cycle from analysis, writing specifications, configuring, deploying, integrating, testing and sustaining changes or new implementation that creates value to the business
  • Assist in developing training for end-users and provides post-implementation support to ensure success of new and existing applications.
  • Oversee implementation projects from beginning to completion, assuming project management function for smaller scale project, and working with a project manager for larger scale efforts
  • Foster a positive and collaborative team culture, promoting continuous learning and professional development across all facets of our business


Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong understanding of business processes, the key drivers and measures of success for the business and the short and long-term direction of the business and technology.
  • Strong technical experience with ERP implementations and support of one or more of the following areas: Finance, Enterprise Asset Management, Procurement and Warehousing.
  • Exceptional creativity problem-solving skills related to identifying solutions to issues in the organization and implementing processes and tools to overcome them.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey complex technical information in a clear and understandable manner across multiple channels and audiences.
  • Experience facilitating workshops, meetings and collaborative work sessions with cross-functional teams in a remote environment across North America.
  • Great organizational and time management skills and ability to support a project team.
  • Experience developing auditable test scripts and executing test plans against system changes.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent work experience.
  • Three to five years comprehensive experience configuring, developing, and implementing ERP systems such as IFS Cloud, SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, etc.
  • Works well independently and in a team environment
  • Have high-level knowledge in various IT areas such as cloud computing, networking, IT/OT segregation, databases, development, deployment, sustainment and security of IT systems.
