GENERAL OVERVIEW:
This position will take an active role in all aspects of Engineering Finance. This role will work closely with the finance team to ensure timely and accurate reporting; as well as, partner with the Engineering business to analyze data to support business decisions and develop financial analytics. This role will focus on driving improvement in processes, systems, and planning. This position will also work directly with product management and finance on product portfolio management.
SFA ENGINEERING & PORTFOLIO MANAGMEMENT
The Senior Financial Analyst will learn all aspects of Engineering Finance. They will also have a chance to model and build projection tools, support business case analysis, design presentations, be a business partner, and enhance communication skills. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE
Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
4 - 6 years of experience in Accounting/Finance required
Strong analytical and communication skills, detail and deadline orientated
Ability to multi-task and manage multiple priorities. Be Flexible and able to adapt to changing priorities
Ability to manage through ambiguity
Ability to collaborate with multiple groups and communicate proposals
Experience in various (Excel, PowerPoint, Access) Microsoft tools required. One Stream, Alteryx, Snowflake, MAPICS, PPM and other query tool experience a plus.
Demonstrated success developing tools to improve financial analysis and financial system added value to the functional group
Successful candidate will have excellent communication and leadership skills with previous experience working with senior management on a routine basis.
Proven experience working with and influencing cross functional teams
The pay range for Minnesota is $80,000 to $111,000 per year. Individual salaries are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills, and geography.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Support financial reporting and presentations including but not limited to Monthly Operating Reviews, budget and Forecast
- Lead the process and consolidation of annual Long Range Product Plan, Long Range Plant, Budget, and Monthly Forecasts and outlooks throughout the year.
- Owns monthly close process, reconciliation, variance analysis and journal entries for Engineering
- Project Tooling Cashflow and amortization
- This role will be Key in defining and communicating financial inputs for business case /program investments as well as partnering in development of such business case
- Will be integral in developing product portfolio review process, defining rules of engagement, developing and/or enhancing models, developing internal review cadences, KPI's and sensitivity analysis while meeting the Product Development Process requirements
- Evaluates product success through metrics and KPIs; work closely with product managers, marketing, sales and operations to ensure alignment between strategy and financial spend.
- Provides timely, relevant and accurate reporting & analysis of performance against historical, budgeted, forecasted and strategic planning results to facilitate decision-making toward the achievement of the budget and strategic plan
- Develop efficient methods for extracting and analyzing data. Maintains and develops various financial models for research, resolution, and decision making often with ambiguous guideline
- Identifies Risks and Opportunities within the Engineering Plan
- Key member in working with functional team members to identify opportunities and provide input to improve as appropriate.
- Become a business partner within the Engineering teams.
- Work closely to develop partnerships and collaborate with other SBU's to share best practices, problem solve and align on accounting practices. Work to understand the various aspects of the business and the impacts on financial performance.
- Perform ad hoc financial analysis for projects as assigned, including but not limited to, NPV and Payback calculations on investments, cost leverage opportunities
- Maintain, develop and adhere to accounting and financial controls to ensure compliance with company policies and GAAP.
