Converge Resources is actively seeking a Senior Software Engineer & Systems Analyst with a leading Midstream Oil & Gas Owner/Operator based out of downtown Houston.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in the Oil & Gas industry as a software developer, with strong expertise in distributed systems and architecture. This includes proficiency in .NET/C#, SQL Server, and Entity Framework, alongside hands-on experience with a combination of 1-2+ of the following technologies: Kafka, GraphQL, Redis, Elasticsearch, RabbitMQ

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science degree from a 4-year accredited university, or 5 years of related industry experience or equivalent technical experience.
  • Computer Science, Computer Information Systems (CIS), or Management Information Systems (MIS) degree is preferred.
  • Proficient knowledge of various technologies including .NET, JavaScript, Git, Redis, SQL Server, and Angular or React.
  • Familiarity with Agile development practices, Scrum, Kanban, and backlog management systems like Azure DevOps.
  • 5+ years of experience in Information Technology specific to application development and support.
  • 5+ years of experience developing and supporting SQL-based applications is required
  • Experienced in database design, performance evaluation and tuning, development of stored procedures, and referential integrity.
  • Proven experience in communicating with team members and product managers to collect requirements and describe software product features.
  • Experience with technologies including Kafka, RabbitMQ, and Elasticsearch.
  • Hands-on experience of commercial energy transportation systems (contracts, tariffs, scheduling, ticketing, balancing, invoicing, reporting, accounts payable, and accounts receivable).

Core Qualifications:

  • Extensive experience with .NET/C# development, SQL Server, and Entity Framework.
  • Proven experience with distributed systems and architecture, particularly in integrating messaging solutions and/or APIs, including designing and implementing solutions for handling concurrent processing in multi-instance applications.
  • Highly skilled individual with strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities, capable of tackling complex challenges and developing effective solutions for implementation with solid experience in system performance optimizations and troubleshooting.
  • Major pluses: Experience with Kafka, GraphQL, Redis, Elasticsearch, RabbitMQ
  • Oil & Gas Industry experience is not a requirement, but is highly valued if they have working knowledge of the oil & gas industry.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver technical designs, estimates of development time, and plan individual deliverable work.
  • Develop functionality with a focus on quality and assuring proper unit and integration test coverage.
  • Collaborate with the QA team to support test plans and execution.
  • Prepare and present status updates for current work tasks, share any blocking items, and provide expected completion dates of work items.
  • Assist architects and leads with technical specifications and develop solutions in support of business requirements.
  • Work directly with team members and business analysts to understand new/changing business requirements and functional enhancements as requested. This includes delivering high- value technical solutions in support of changing business requirements and initiatives.
  • Assist with performing systems analysis for projects of major scope and various complexities to provide a means for solving technical and business-related problems/challenges.
  • Support existing business application(s) by troubleshooting issues, analyzing possible causes, defining solutions, and working through defined change control processes to enable quick resolution.
  • Acquire and maintain system and business knowledge needed to support both end users and other internal or external technical teams.
