Job Description
We are looking for an Analytical Development Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations in our laboratory. The selected candidate will be responsible for managing a team of research scientists, ensuring the successful evaluation, validation, and transfer of analytical methods. This role is key to our ongoing growth and will involve working cross-functionally with other departments to meet customer needs.
Responsibilities
This role involves working onsite five days a week in our laboratory, located in Morton Grove. The work schedule is first shift hours. The position offers the opportunity to grow management skills and lead a team of senior research scientists. The team often collaborates with the QC Lab and Process Chemistry Lab. The company is currently in growth mode, having recently signed new deals for small molecule APIs, which necessitate testing and method development. The work environment is supportive, fostering a family-like atmosphere within a small company.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $48.00 - $60.00/hr.

Job Description
We are looking for an Analytical Development Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations in our laboratory. This role is key to our ongoing growth and will involve working cross-functionally with other departments to meet customer needs.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the day-to-day operations in the laboratory and provide feedback on analytical development, assessment, and validation activities to the scientists.
- Manage and schedule method validation activities, prioritizing projects according to internal and external customer needs.
- Author validation protocols, execute validation experiments, facilitate internal method transfers, and write summary reports independently.
- Assist in the development of analytical methods as needed.
- Evaluate analytical methods independently and troubleshoot problems related to method assessment and validation.
- Communicate validation schedules periodically with internal and external stakeholders.
- Experience managing analytical chemists and developing talent.
- Strong working knowledge of HPLC, GC, MS, and titration techniques.
- Proficient in troubleshooting and working independently with attention to detail.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret professional journals, technical procedures, and governmental regulations.
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
- Effective presentation skills and ability to respond to questions from colleagues, managers, customers, and the public.
- Competence in performing complex method development and suggesting appropriate method modifications.
- Strong data analysis and problem-solving skills.
- Basic computer knowledge.
- Knowledge of ICH Q2 and ICH Q14.
- Experience with ICP-MS, Chromeleon Chromatography Data Software, and solid-state or polymorph characterization is a plus.
- Effective organization, prioritization, and delegation skills while maintaining department morale.
- Versatile communication skills in high-level and detail-oriented situations.
- Education/Experience: BS in Chemistry with a minimum of 5 years' experience in Analytical Development; or MS in Chemistry with a minimum of 3 years' experience; or PhD in Chemistry with a minimum of 2 years' experience.
