The Ancillary Premium Manager is responsible for leading the day-to-day ancillary premium operations while maintaining, building, and fostering a positive work experience. The Ancillary Premium Manager will collaborate with the department's senior leadership team to deliver on the Company's commitment of timely and accurate premium processing.

The Ancillary Premium Manager is responsible for leading the day-to-day ancillary premium operations while maintaining, building, and fostering a positive work experience. The Ancillary Premium Manager will collaborate with the department's senior leadership team to deliver on the Company's commitment of timely and accurate premium processing.
Responsibilities include:
- Team Leadership: Lead all activities associated with running an operations service team, including but not limited to, hiring, training, and developing a team to support key functions: reconcile ancillary premium back-ups to sold forms rates, ensure premium is accurate and paid timely to carriers and brokers, create and maintain internal controls for proper accounting, maintain accurate ancillary premium reporting of variances and adjustments, and resolve ancillary premium discrepancies with the broker.
- Training and Development: Maintain staff workload balances, promote teamwork and professional work environment, coach staff to promote personal and professional development, set achievable individual performance goals, set clear expectations and provide regular, ongoing feedback to staff as well as completing annual performance appraisals and corrective actions, as needed.
- People Management: Approve employee timecards and manage Paid Time Off requests.
- Quality Assurance: Guide the development and refinement of ancillary premium processes, workflows, data analytics, and continuous review of system functionality to ensure efficiencies, adherence to company policies and standards, while functioning with accuracy and timelines.
- Process Improvement: Lead continuous process improvements by applying lessons learned and industry best practices that leverage technology and automation to achieve company objectives. Partner across teams to align and optimize processes, cross train for potential support needs and ensure talent mobility.
- Administrative Management: Develop and maintain documentation of ancillary premium processes and procedures in collaboration with the Finance Operations Trainer to ensure team compliance.
- Reporting: Identify the source of bottlenecks and exceptions, develop root cause analysis, risk assessments, and create monitoring reports that will drive issues to quicker resolution and prevent reoccurrence.
- Industry Trends: In collaboration with department senior leadership, manage the development of strategic plans in relative to new technology, industry trends, production efficiencies, and personnel management.
- Subject Matter Expert: Subject matter expert for all facets of the ancillary premium reconciliation process.
- Relationship Building: Develop and maintain strong relationships with key functional areas with the Ancillary Account Management team.
- Month End Close: Key member of the month-end close process, to help ensure all ancillary premium balances are accurate and recorded correctly by financial reporting team before submission to Amwins GST.
- Projects: Other projects and duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent strongly preferred
- Experience: 3+ years direct management and experience in accounting and/or finance preferred.
- Industry Experience: Experience working in the insurance industry and/or at a Carrier or Third-Party Administrator preferred.
- Technical Proficiency: Advanced Excel knowledge including, V/Xlookup, Pivot Tables, Macros.
- Tools: Experience utilizing Smartsheet work management platform preferred.
- Self-Starter: Must possess ability to make appropriate business judgments and decisions independently.
- Detail-Oriented: Ability to work carefully and is diligent and detail-oriented
- Skills: Ability to work and communicate with all levels of an organization and successfully balance multiple tasks and projects concurrently.
